Looking at the world from a different perspective – that too is part of what "Review 2014 - A Fresh Look at German Foreign Policy" is all about. That's why our logo takes an image of the world that isn't in line with our usual perspective and which therefore makes us think.
This map, which was drawn up by Richard Buckminster Fuller back in the 1950s, shows the earth from an unusual perspective: the continents are depicted as contiguous and there is no visual distortion in their relative sizes. This forces us to rethink our customary reference points and contrasts, such as North-South or West-East.
Further information about the map and its creator can be found on the Buckminister Fuller Institute website: www.bfi.org.
